♦️ About The Employer:
- is located in Diblin, and one of seven Hospital Groups established under the Government’s national health reform agenda. The Hospital Group has a single management team with responsibility for overall performance within a clearly defined budget.
The Group provides Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Special Care Baby Unit, Paediatrics, ICU, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), General Surgery, General Medicine, Acute Medical Assessment, 24 hour Emergency Department, Day Hospital facilities and Out Patients Services, Radiology including CT and MRI, Laboratory & Pathology services, Nutrition & Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Discharge Planning, Pharmacy, Cardiac Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Services,
Maternity Services at The Group .
The Hospital provides maternity services to the catchment area of counties, Ireland.
The Maternity Services is part of a clinical network with the Hospital. The Maternity Unit is a 29-bedded unit with a birth rate of between 1500 births per annum.
The Maternity Unit provides:
Midwifery Led Antenatal Clinics: Hospital & Community based
Midwifery led postnatal care and discharge
Gestational Diabetic clinics
Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit
Postnatal care to mothers and babies
Gynaecological Services, including ambulatory gynaecological services.
Perinatal Mental Health service facilitated by CMSp and Consultant Psychiatrist.
♦️ Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Professional Responsibilities
Practice Midwifery according to the Code of Professional Conduct as laid down by An Bórd Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland) and Professional Clinical Guidelines.
Comply with national, regional and local Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines, policies, protocols and legislation.
The Staff Midwife will:
Deliver midwifery care to women and babies according to best practice / evidence based framework.
Fulfil their obligation with regard to the registration and notification of births.
Promote the health, welfare and social wellbeing of all women and babies.
Provide education and information to the patient, their family.
♦️ Eligibility Criteria
1. Professional Qualification - Midwife Diploma
2. Experience as a a Midwife is an advantage.
3. Be registered in NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) OR be entitled to be registered
4. Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
♦️ Who can apply:
- EU citizens with EU qualification, who have already passed their IELTS / OET exam, and are in process of NMBI registration will be considered for Midwife positions
- midwives from Uk - must be NMBI registered (or eligible for registration)
- candidates outside of EU, already registered at NMBI
♦️ Skills, Competencies and/or Knowledge
Candidates must:
- Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
- Practice midwifery care safely and effectively, fulfilling their professional responsibility within their scope of practice.
- Practice in accordance with legislation affecting midwifery practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and organise effectively.
- Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain relationships including the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrate effective analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills,
- Demonstrate evidence of ability to empathise with and treat patients, relatives and colleagues with dignity and respect.
♦️ Salary and Benefits:
Salary will depend on experience (based on proof of experience):
starting with €36,919 per year (before tax) for a graduate (0 years experience),
up to €53,340 per year (before tax) for a Midwife with 11+ years of documented experience.
In addition to basic pay there is premium pay for out of hours work , weekends, etc.
- support candidates with relocation package (transportation, accommodation, etc) - To be confirmed with our client.
- For permanent roles, there is a pension scheme.
