A hospital in Friesland, located in the northern region of the Netherlands, is seeking two dynamic and skilled Gastroenterologists to join their team. These positions have become available due to replacement and expansion and offer the opportunity to be part of a progressive and collaborative medical environment.

The hospital is a top-tier regional healthcare provider, serving Southeast Friesland with a broad range of specialized care. It has established excellent collaborations with a university hospital and primary care partners to deliver optimal health outcomes and enhance patients' quality of life. The hospital is also committed to training future doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals with passion and expertise.

♦️ Postition overview

The hospital is seeking its 6th and 7th Gastroenterologist (1.6 FTE). These roles will join a highly motivated and professional team dedicated to advancing gastroenterology care.

Key Features of the Role:
• 18 clinical beds in the Gastroenterology Department.
• Three fully equipped endoscopy rooms with spacious recovery facilities.
• Comprehensive gastroenterology care, including ERCP, VCE, endoscopic ultrasound, single balloon enteroscopy, IBD, HPB, and oncology.
• Active involvement in the national colorectal cancer screening program.
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, DC Clinics in Dokkum and Groningen, and UMCG (University Medical Center Groningen).

♦️ Learning dutch through the Language Academy

Since 2017 a language proficiency certification has become mandatory for BIG registration to work in the Netherlands as a doctor or dentist. To obtain this certificate you need to pass the Dutch language test at B2+ level.

➡️ The program up to B2+ level in 6 months

You can start learning Dutch online through the Language Academy every two months. You will study with a buddy according to the course material, and your progress will be closely monitored by a certified teacher. At this stage, you will be required to invest 2 hours a day of your free time.

➡️ The full program looks as follows:

• A0 - A1 level 8 weeks Online course + A1 exam (study load: 17 hours per week)
• 2 weeks break to relocate to the Netherlands
• A1 - A2 level 4 weeks Intensive course in the Netherlands (classes and study load: 40 hours per week)
• 1 week break
• A2- B1 level 7 weeks Intensive course in the Netherlands (classes and study load: 40 hours per week)
• 1 week break
• B2 - B2+ level 5 weeks Intensive course in the Netherlands (classes and study load: 40 hours per week)
• Dutch language test
