➡️ About the Role

🚀 What You’ll Do

- Design, train, and optimize deep learning models (computer vision) to detect scratches, cracks, and defects on smartphones.
- Apply a test-and-learn mindset: data augmentation, fine-tuning, and iterative evaluation.
- Deploy scalable AI models to production using AWS SageMaker, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, in close collaboration with DevOps.
- Build and maintain an internal image annotation tool (simple UI for defect labeling).
- Monitor and maintain model performance with drift detection, KPIs, and metrics tracking.
- Partner with the AI Product Manager to align technical work with business objectives.
- Act as the AI expert within the team: explain concepts, make informed technical decisions, and shape the AI roadmap.

✅ What We’re Looking For

- Proven track record in building and deploying AI/ML models.
- Cloud & MLOps skills: AWS (SageMaker, Ground Truth), Docker, CI/CD, Git, model monitoring.
- Programming expertise: Python (advanced), REST APIs (FastAPI/Flask), Swagger/OpenAPI.
Deep Learning & CV: PyTorch / TensorFlow, image processing (OpenCV, PIL).
- Computer Vision experience: defect detection, model optimization, training workflows.
- Data management skills: preprocessing, dataset curation, labeling workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills: analytical, pragmatic, and creative.
- Adaptable, curious, and eager to explore new tools.
- Collaborative mindset: work closely with developers, product managers, and annotation teams.
- Detail-oriented: you care about clean code, reliable models, and measurable impact.
