Rehabilitation Medicine with full education (both medical doctor and specialist) in an EU-country OR

with recognition of education in an EU-country plus minimum three years of experience as a specialist in that EU-country.

➡️ Description of work at the actual clinic and its assignment and goal

Service can take place in care unit and within one of the clinic's outpatient teams. Team in inpatient care deals with neurorehabilitation (mainly acquired brain injury and spinal cord injury), team in outpatient care with rehabilitation and follow-up of spinal cord injury or rehabilitation of patients with acquired brain injury or rehabilitation of long-term pain, focus on return to work and functioning in everyday life.

As a specialist, you will, among other things, have overall responsibility for the patient's rehabilitation efforts together with the clinic's medical team to be responsible for referral assessment and prioritization as well as actively participate and contribute to the development of the business.

Number of employees

A total of approx. 70 employees.

Out-and inpatient care

Outpatient care consists of 3 teams: pain rehab team, neuro-rehab team, spinal team.
The care department includes 12 beds for inpatients and two day care beds.

Clinical experience

As above, desired minimum of two to three years of experience as an independent specialist.

Important personal characteristics

You can work autonomously and you are easy to collaborate with and appreciate working in a team. You see your part in the whole and would like to help to develop the business.

Areas of responsibility / requirements linked to the service, e.g. if it involves travel to work in another place etc.
Supervision of doctors in training, such as BT/ST doctors in rehabilitation medicine.

Salary

The average salary for rehab doctors in Sweden is 80.000-95.000 SEK.
The following salary is valid for 2025. From next year, a bit higher salary can be expectable. Salary as:

- Assistant doctor, general fixed-term employment 46.500 SEK during Swedish studies B2 - C1 in combination with work 50/50 before Swedish legitimation and specialist licence.

- Legitimated assistant doctor, general fixed-term employment 51.000 SEK after having Swedish legitimation and specialist licence and during introduction to the role.

- Specialist doctor, permanent employment, hen the candidate already manages his/ her duties independently. Minimum 75,600 SEK for those who are newly graduated specialists and 80- 95.000 for those who have more or less experience as specialists.

- Head-doctor, permanent employment. After a while, it is possible to apply for a position as a head-doctor where the salary is negotiated individually and can be even 95-110.000 SEK or more.

On-call duties and their organisation

No on-call.

Setup for language course B2-C1 when it is carried out after employment in the hospital has begun:

Half days.

The language course up to level B2 is carried out in the home country/ online, including an intensive course. B2 - C1 is carried out from the workplace and is combined with work as an assistant doctor (still without legitimation in Sweden which is bound to C1 language skills) and studies 50% / 50%, Monday - Friday.

• During the personal visit which is part of the interview process, the cost of travel, accommodation and meals are financed by Mediflexible

• Free Swedish course from A1 to C1 level. Between A1 and B2 online and B2 - C1 in the workplace in combination with work (50-50%). The candidates will study each working day. Financial support during the course up to B2 (the amount is topic of negotiation).

• Free language education for family members – to B2 level for spouses and school-age children or if it is not possible, the highest possible level.

• Help with the application for Swedish license to practice, supervision of the process

• Free Swedish legal and social training which consists of 40 lessons

• Integration assistance (assistance in registering at tax authority, opening bank account, etc.)

• Assistance in finding school/kindergarten for the children

• Assistance in the organization of moving and in apartment-seeking

• Support for moving: 30.000 SEK for singles and 45.000 SEK for families for furniture transport + 5.000 SEK for travel costs.

• Scanned version of license to practice in home country with English translation (no official needed)

• Scanned version of medical and specialist certificates with English translation (no official needed)

• Two English-speaking reference persons who is reachable on phone and one is a chief (can be a former one, if not possible to have a current one) and the other is a colleague.

Further requirements

As a part of the application process, it can be necessary to take personality tests with our candidates and the results have to be presented for the Swedish employer.
