➡️ Requirements for education

Specialist exam in Oncology from within the EU OR
education recognized in an EU-country plus at least three years of experience as working as a specialist in that country.

➡️ Required experience

At least 2 years of experience in a radiotherapy department after specialization is desirable.

➡️ Duties

The position focuses on external radiotherapy in general. You will work at the radiotherapy unit where there is the opportunity to focus on one or more of the unit’s diagnostic groups, on brachytherapy or on work with the MR Linac project.

Duties are standard specialist duties which include referral assessment, reception, target drawing (a bit more than 100 patients is planned per week), medical support in preparation for CT/MR/PET and during treatment, e.g. for image review, participation in target and dose plan rounds and participation in MDK (e.g. ENT/Lung/Children).

The job also includes both organizational development work and quality work as well as supervision of students and ST (trainee) doctors. The position basically involves 100% clinical work but can be combined with your own research.

Monday-Thursday 8.00-16.45
Friday 8.00-15.30

Saturday duty occurs approximately every 6-8 Saturdays, when on-call compensation is paid. Flexible hours apply.

Specialist doctors are paid overtime compensation for ordered overtime.

➡️ Salary for staff with Swedish legitimation

73.000-80.000 SEK for a specialist doctor depending on professional background and number of years of experience as a specialist. Later, as a consultant doctor, you can earn even 90- 100.000 SEK or more.

The University Hospital is one of the country's largest hospitals. It is a knowledge hub for healthcare at all stages of life at regional, national and international levels.

The Department of Haematology, Oncology and Radiation Physics is a highly specialized business with approximately 900 employees that offers treatment of cancer diseases to patients throughout the southern healthcare region. They provide oncological inpatient and outpatient care in five cities. Radiation treatment is centralized in the city you will work in.

• During the personal visit which is part of the interview process, the cost of travel and accommodation is financed

• 6-7 months long, free Swedish course, financial support during the course (the amount is topic of negotiation, usually €1.000/month))

• Help with your application for Swedish license to practice, supervision of the process

• free Swedish legal and social training consisting of 40 classes

Optional (by individual agreement with the employer):

• Assistance in finding school/kindergarten for the children

• Assistance in the organization of moving and in apartment-seeking

• Integration assistance (assistance in registering at tax authority, opening bank account,
etc.)

• Professional English CV in which your experience (number of completed examinations/surgeries, with differentiation between pre-and post-specialization experience) are detailed

• cover letter

then,

after successful interview,
• scanned version of license to practice in home country with English translation (no official needed)
• scanned version of medical and specialist certificates with English translation (no official needed)
• two references (possible at a later stage)
