Thanks to lots of integrations with publishers and schools, this company is best known for partnering with more than 1,000 publishers and resellers to deliver extraordinary learning experiences to millions of active users globally.

We’re looking for a Mid-level Ruby on Rails Software Engineer who speaks Ukrainian or Russian to join the team 100% remotely.

You will work with fellow software engineers in a cross-functional environment to implement a quality product that meets the business goals and are expected to be self-motivated, proactive, and a solution-oriented problem solver.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Develop creative and innovative solutions for the next generation of educational learning.
- Participate in all aspects of the application development life cycle including specifications, prototypes, development, quality assurance, deployment, and operations.
- Participate in software architecture and design discussions.
- Develop and modify internal and external facing software as part of an engineering team.
- Participate in team code reviews, presenting your work for feedback and providing constructive feedback to others
- Support development with appropriate documentation of your work
- Test your work hands on and with automated tests; shepherd it through the quality assurance and release processes.
- Support the on-call operations of the team, troubleshooting and resolving issues when they arise.

Integrations on the backend include:

- Student information systems
- Learning information systems
- Payment integrations => gift cards, vouchers, ...
- Dozens of integrations with vendors & publishers

Requirements

Must-Have's:
3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails web/API development
Strong Ukrainian or Russian language to communicate with developers daily
Solid written and spoken English to engage with colleagues from the US

Nice To Have's:
Knowledge of modern web development technologies: PHP, JavaScript, full-stack development, web services (REST)

Be prepared to answer at the following pre-screening Questions:
1. Do you have 3+ years of web development experience with Ruby on Rails?
2. Can you write SQL queries and use MySQL?
3. Do you speak Ukrainian or Russian?
4. Do you speak English and are comfortable interacting with colleagues from the US?
5. Are you based in Europe?
