However, the focus of the interested person would be, for example, dialysis, other extra-corporal treatments, so there may also be opportunities for it.

Description of the goal of activity
The mission of our business is to improve the quality of life and extend the life of those with chronic kidney-related and rheumatic diseases. Our work is aimed at chronically ill patients at a time when treatments are getting better and more efficient and the number of patients in the foreseeable future increases. At the same time, the need for dialysis in the Malmö area increases. This means that one goal is to be able to continuously adapt our work so that the patients receive good care at the right time.
We are in total approximately 500 employees within the kidney and rheumatologic unit in both Lund and Malmö within various professional areas. Our kidney medicine clinic in Lund consists of about 25 employees and of these, 16 are doctors.
Our goals with our work is to increase preventative work, preserve / increase the patient's autonomy, increase patient time, prevent organ damage, create good working environment for all employees and drive research, development and education in kidney medicine and rheumatology.
We continue our work on developing the activities in Kidney Medicine / Rheumatology for more self-care. We work to create more independent patients and we have a very large development work ahead of us in terms of greater use of e-health. This requires training and support to the patients and a new way for the employees to work. We need to work even more with preventive care, with information and spread knowledge about kidney-related and rheumatic diseases. The increase of autoimmune diseases puts pressure on our business and our employees to work just preventively and to treat in time.

At the same time, a good ability within the general specialist competence must be maintained. In the SUS decentralized organization, the head of the medical department holding the relevant chair is responsible for designing the continuing education in consultation with the specialists of the specialty.
The continuing education will be based on an individual perspective where the specialist maintains and develops his / her knowledge throughout his / her whole professional career.
The responsibility for continuing education of specialist doctors lies with the head of section who represents a specialty and who has budget responsibility for the medical group. Completed training shall be integrated into the activity area / section's monitoring activity.
It is formulated in consultation with the specialist, which continuing education activities such as courses and activities, national and international meetings a specialist doctor should participate in, and how frequently. The Head of Section is responsible for designing an individual training plan in connection with employee interviews.
The section's structure and environment encourages continuous learning integrated into the regular clinical activities. The activity is planned in such a way that withdrawal of research time is facilitated and that clinical research is an obvious integrated part of the activity.
Internal training activities within the medical group are regarded as a complement to external and planned in the doctors' schedule.
