Main responsibility Transporting maritime containers in the Benelux and sometimes Germany
Possible trailers Only maritime container chassis
International trips between Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, perhaps France and sometimes Germany. Local and international transport.
There is no loading/unloading involved. The containers stay sealed/closed.
Number of addresses a day
Depending on planning. Could be 1, could be 10.
System (4:1/6:2/8:2/10:2) or continuous for longer periods (5-6 months)
Whole year long, between 60-65 hours/week.
Transport to the Netherlands
By own car / plane.
Driving license C+E
Additional courses ADR basic (parcels)
Additional papers Electronic Drivers Card Digital Tachograph Card
Experience as a seacontainer truck driver Min. 24 months of experience with driving C+E
Knowledge of foreign languages
Min. B-1 Level English (good English)
Skills Experience with maritime containers and Cargo Card/Alpha pas
Traits Well Organised – because of the amount of addresses a day, from 1 up to 10 and paperwork which must be taken care of correctly and neatly. Also: flexible and high communicative. Cool headed.
Reference Min. 1 good reference from a previous employer
Basic salary € 13,13
Reservations (extra/bonus on top) 10,82% paid holiday & 8.33% holiday money and 1.38% ADV
Overtime percentages Basic overtime: 130% / Saturday: 150% / Sunday: 200%
Total working hours per week ±60 (around 10 – 12 hours a day – working, not only driving)
Average weekly salary after costs
€ 900,- net ( on the bank account) = € 4.000 net/month
Payment of salary: Every week
For our client in Dordrecht we are looking for experienced CE maritime container drivers with basic ADR.The trips are mostly within the Benelux and sometimes a trip to Germany can happen also.
The driver is on the road the whole week, and comes back to the base only for the weekend, where basic facilities are available (shower/toilet). The trips are mixed up, so it can be that a driver will drive for some days only in the Netherlands, before he will be sent again abroad to other countries. For the salary it doesn`t make a difference, as all trips are paid equally and also is the compensation for sleeping in the truck (subsistence allowance).
The containers are always sealed, so loading or unloading will not be necessary. Important to note is, that it can happen for a driver that a trailer has to be changed the one day, where the other day only the containers will be changed (and the chassis will stay the same). It will be a little bit of both. Communication goes by Board Computer (Transix) and if necessary the driver is asked to call the planning with his own phone. When waiting long times for loading (5 - 8 hours), 1 hour of break time will be taken from the waiting time. The trucks are mostly DAF, have a fridge inside and the oldest one is 6 years old their job.
